Heroic Wiggins villain for Team GB
As British acclaim of cyclist Bradley Wiggins grows in the lead up to the Olympics, fellow Team GB members are wishing he would fail miserably to give them all a break.
Opinions on Wiggins’ Tour de France exploits have been typically erratic, with descriptions varying from lucky fluke to greatest sporting achievement in British history.
Fellow cyclist Victoria Pendleton admitted, “It’s exactly what I wanted, for Brad to get everyone’s hopes up a week before the Games start.
“Thanks a lot mate.”
Jessica Ennis added, “In 99 years a Briton has never won the Tour de France, so why on Earth did he have to do it now!
“What a loser.”
Such a good moral boost just ahead of the games don’t you think!
Absolutely but tough to live up to.
But they’re professional athletes, they should surely thrive on a bit of pressure. I think it can only be a positive thing. BTW please vote on my blog post about Wiggins. http://alexaucott.com/2012/07/23/a-clean-win-for-wiggins/ Interesting difference between Anglophone, and French language vote!
