Plotting Greece’s next euro elimination
German Chancellor Angela Merkel did not mince her words when she reacted to Germany beating Greece in last night’s European Championships quarter final.
Germany won 4-2 in a match which was as one-sided as a eurozone bailout pledge.
A jubilant Merkel trumpeted, “They put up as much of a fight as one of their income tax collectors.
“If only their public spending policy was as conservative as their country’s football team, they might still have two euros to rub together.
“It’s not over till the fat lady sings – and I’m ready for some karaoke!”
