Olympic torch held up in fiery airplane hijack scare

The Olympic torch’s high-profile flight from Greece to the UK has hit a snag as Greek border control became suspicious of a passenger carrying a burning firebrand.
With security levels as high and ever and the continuous threat of riots in Athens, police suspected it was a tourist trying to sneak out a fiery souvenir of the civil unrest.
Airport security confirmed, “We temporarily confiscated a torch-like object being transported to Britain by a slow-witted English man.
“He said his name was David Beckham and we initially suspected he was playing dumb so as to lull us in to a false sense of security.
“There were a few football fans amongst the team who knew who he was though so we eventually had to let him through after he slowly agreed that he supported anti-austerity initiatives.”
