Cristiano Ronaldo upstaged Lionel Messi again this season last night, by bottling a crucial penalty just 24 hours after the Argentine did the same.
Messi smashed his against Petr Cech’s bar in normal time, but Ronaldo went one step further by cocking up a shootout spot-kick, despite scoring one in normal time himself.
With both breaking records this season, the disappointing turn of events in the Champions League semi-finals leaves the Ballon d’Or in the balance.
Jose Mourinho added, “For the final I am obviously supporting Chelsea because of my relationship with the players.
“They are all my beautiful little babies.”
